Dear Scouts, Dear Parents and guardians,
This is another one of those times when external constraints force us to rethink our activities.
EFSA direction has been closely following the case of coronavirus. In the context of the outbreak of COVID-19, and in accordance with the recommendations given by the Luxembourg government (statement from 12 March 2020) and our association LGS – British scouts and guides (statement from 12 March 2020), EFSA direction – St. Alphonsus Scouts group, preventively canceled with immediate effect and all its activities until Friday, 27 March. Therefore, We will not carry out the planned ceremonies for this weekend 13 to 15 March:
- Via Sacra
- Armas evening
- Cerimónia de Partida
- Celebration of Promises
De mesmo modo que não haverá atividades regulares das Secções nos dias 14 and 21 March.
We are sad to have to cancel these important events, given the efforts already made in planning, for all the leadership worked with great dedication to achieve these events, to provide another striking end-of-week in the history of EFSA. As for the leg-tender, novices and aspirants who longed for this important moment in its path Scout.
With the increasing number of infected by COVID-19, these measures will be subject to ongoing assessment, and this preventive measure can be extended for longer.
Any information and changing activities of the grouping after this date will be given to parents and guardians of our elements, through new statement from EFSA direction. also, we are currently evaluating new dates for the completion of the aforementioned events.
In its primary mission of educating for active citizenship, the EFSA encourages its Sections and respective Managers to promote activities / online meetings with its members so they do not lose contact with regular scouting during this long period of pause.
Lembrando que o escuta é bom cidadão, sensitize to remain calm and respect all indications of the Luxembourg health ministry. No alarmism, but responsibly, we should try to follow the sources of official information, respeitar as orientações das autoridades e adotar as medidas de autoproteção recomendadas pelo ministério da saúde.
We remember all the scouts and the community of the importance of individual hygiene measures:
– wash your hands frequently, with water and soap or liquid soap, and rubbing the at least 20 seconds;
– Cough or sneeze into a tissue (single use) or the arm with the elbow flexed, and not into the hands;
– Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth;
– Avoid physical contact with greetings;
